Description

Pianist Hester Ham, winner of the Sammamish Symphony’s 1999 Concerto contest, will be featured during the orchestra’s Spring Concert. Ms. Ham is a Junior at Kent-Meridian High School where she is active in many school activities and a member of the National Honor Society. She is a student of Michi North and has studied the piano for 10 years. Her skill and artistry at the keyboard won acclaim by the judges who rated her outstanding among the thirty skilled musicians who entered the contest. For her solo presentation with the orchestra, Ms. Ham has selected the first movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto, Opus 16.

The Spring Concert, conducted by R. Joseph Scott, will also feature the orchestra in Herold’s Zampa Overture, Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, and Holst’s The Planets (Mars and Jupiter movements).
